he was the person who first came to me and asked me about my hijab in my first computer science class. he was interested in knowing more about why things are the way they are for Muslims. and he first tried to handshake. and i was hesitated. but because it was in front of soo many people, so i accepted the handshake. and he asked me why i was hesitated. and i told him how Islam doesn’t allow men and women touching. and he was surprised, “even a handshake?” i didn’t do a good job in explaining, though, i think. but oh well, he respected me the way I am.

and reading his status today make me really really happy.

he really does respect us, doesn’t he? and a lot of his other american friends. sometimes, they are thought on thinking the other way round. i mean, books on Islam here, too. some parts weren’t so true. some parts just may confuse readers of the thought of Islam. and some novels just tell how Muslims are just bad. it’s sad. but, that’s how things work here and i guess to change these all may require a lot of effort. and we can see how some still don’t believe the books and they respect and have faith in all other religions. no religion is bad. it just depends on one’s belief. and how one would discover the truth after holding the belief tight.

i tried to imagine myself if i were not borned as Muslim. i wouldn’t even think of a way that i would convert. when would i seek for the hidayah? when will i realize that Islam is the right path? MasyaAllah. mmg dilahirkan Islam ialah satu nikmat/kurniaan yang tidak terhingga dari Allah. kan?

now, just to make things clear. i’m not trying to say christians are bad or what. neither do they. i mean, people said christians are gonna burn the Al-Quran or have done so. but hey, probably it’s not even christians doing it! who knows. who knows. all we need now is for each other to respect each other’s religion. like how these friends of mine did. i respect him even more now.

p.s and sorry for just cutting and pasting this in my blog. i’m just so happy when i see my friends here actually have a status that.. is just so respectful. but, just in case, i blackened the name. your privacy i guess?
